Hi.
It’s 8.15 p.m and I’m still at Tapete doing this’n that. I’m going away with the family tomorrow so I’ve got quite a bit to wrap up here. At my side is an ice cold Astra beer which tastes very good, indeed. My dog Eddy lies at my side wondering when the hell we’ll be getting out of here so he can sniff around tree trunks in Hamburg Altona. Looking forward to two weeks of just sitting around in the shade near the ocean and reading books,..well, not exactly books…. it’ll be on my new super toy: the amazon Kindle e-reader. Very, very nice gadget this! It definitly does not support multitasking which is such a relief!!! Actually, you can’t do anything with it except read. And read well on it you can! No computer monitor blink blink and sunlight reflections on this…good stuff. Try reading a book on the iPad and you’ll know what I mean!!! So, I’ve got a few cool books on it already and I’m ready to take it to the beach!!!
The ‘Dirk & Bernd’ October tour is booked, so go check out those dates HERE if you’d like to see some fairly aged men try to rock. Could be fun!
Looking forward to the whole ‘Dirk & Bernd’ stuff coming up in September/October. TV, radio, Live shows,..wow. Bit like the old days, really….spooky!

sitting at home writing new songs.
it’s nice’n cool today after a week of tropical heat. suits me fine as my hayfever has been keeping me way, way down for days. every drop of rain is like manna from heaven…mmm
have a few nice ideas flying around…need to get my head around editing the one’s that are there and freeflowing on new stuff. interesting process every time! kindof nerve-wracking but exchilerating all the same, especially if the first words and chords come together sounding cool in some way or other.
anyway, ….pick up my D-18 and carry on

Pünktlich zur Veröffentlichung der zweiten ‘Dirk & Bernd’ Platte im Oktober sind wir mit ‘So geht das jede Nacht’ beim ‘Bundesvision Song Contest 2010’ in Berlin mit dabei!
Das wird ein Spaß! Tour mit Band folgt dann Mitte Oktober. Termine dann auch bald hier!

Mixing tracks for the ‘Dirk & Bernd’ album at ‘Le Chatelet’ studio in Hamburg-Altona.
Sounding good! We spent five days recording 13 songs (!!)
Thanks to a lively bunch of extremly brilliant and totally likable musicians (Lars Plogschties on drums, Folke Jensen on electric guitar and Ben Schadow on bass) we managed to get everything on ‘tape’…woooo….great fun!
Now I can sit around outside and read while Gregor (engineer + owner of the studio) slaves away making our chaos sound absolutly fabulous, or something like that.
The album is due to be released in October and I won’t tell you what’s on it quite yet.
Suffice to say that it’s really different from what you’ve heard me do before
(well, actually if you went way, way back it might not come as such a big surprise, really)
So, I’ll enjoy a bottle of Czech beer now as the sun sets over Hamburg.

The sun has finally come out again after days and days of drizzly rain and cold. Jesus,..it’s May! Damn.
I’ve been rehearsing some songs for the upcoming ‘Dirk & Bernd’ recording session which starts on Friday. Apart from that I’ve been watching ‘Dexter’ episodes and reading ‘The Longplayer Goodbye’ by Travis Elborough, which is highly recommended for anyone interested (obsessed?) with music and recording history.
Saw some cool shows lately as well….’Hellsongs’ at the Knust, Hamburg. ‘Nom de Guerre’ at ’Grüner Jäger’, Hamburg and-on Saturday ‘Moritz Krämer’ supporting Gisbert zu Knyphausen at the Lagerhaus, Bremen. Totally looking forward to Moritz’ album release next January. He’s excellent!
Gonna throw myself into my running gear now and go out into the forests….as long as it’s not raining. Here I go…
